Dr.Bakshi in Indian Vegetarian Congress

Nathalie Bathurst, Canada, self-starter in the Ottawa vegetarian group: Ida Waage Nielsen, life vegetarian from Denmark, studying psychology: Jay Dinshah, President of the American Vegan Society, and editor of their lively Ahimsa newspaper: Satyanarayan Bakshi, Assistant Manager of Catering, Air India, who supervised Indian dishes during the Congress, distributed a special edition of Indian Recipes published by Air-India, entitled Maharajah of the Vegetable Kingdom. Anyone who questions the variety of vegetarian food should know that Bakshi claims to have mastered 600 Indian vegetarian dishes alone.

Grand Chef Bakshi still teaching Vegetarian Cuisine at the Age of 76!
DCCK’s 64th Culinary Job Training class listened intently to Grand Chef Bakshi as he enlightened them about the health properties of various herbs and vegetables in his Grand Health Vegetarian Cuisine Workshop!
Grand Chef Bakshi, famous for his 111 varieties of vegetarian sandwiches, taught about the many health benefits of that included fresh vegetables, Fenugreek, Tamarind and sesame seeds. We thank Grand Chef Bakshi for his enlightening class and his positive energy to help DCCK Combat Hunger and Create Opportunity!

First D.Litt to culinary Art in the World
At the age of 81 he received a rare honor from a reputed Indian University. GITAM University one of high ranked university in India presented Honorary Degree of Doctor of Letters on Mr.Satyanarayana Bakshi Vemulakonda. Of all the universities of the world, GITAM is the one and only institute awarded this great honor of D.Litt .This is the first D.Litt to culinary art in the World.
Rare Awards
Mr.Bakshi was rewarded with the Dhirubhai Ambani Gold Medal from the Indian Vegetarian Congress, Mumbai on the occasion of conferring the title on him “Viswa Vikhyatha Pakasastra Vetta”. He also compiled a recipe book “ Delicious Diet for Diabetics” for the International Congress of Diabetics at New Delhi in 1996.
Mr.Bakshi was well know for his ‘Live Shows’ at various television networks throughout the world and contributed 365 vegetarian and health discs to ETV in Hyderabad, for the benefit of good food lovers in this country.
CULINARY WIZARD
While the Times of India and Bhavan’s Jornal called him the Culinary Wizard, Tokyo Times rated him as the Chef Extraordinary. National Herald, Hyderabad, has gone a bit further and acclaimed him as the king of Vegetarian Cusine and the Mid Day Bombay described him as Badushah of Cooking. Auckland’s Star, New Zealand commented the “with his meals you don’t miss meat”, attribute for his vegetarian cuisine.
